Moseley Road Baths CIO is delighted to announce that Amit Dattani will be our first Chief Executive Officer. He’ll be joining Team MRB on 9 November.
Amit has spent over 15 years in the charity sector, where constant threads of his career have included creating strong partnerships and putting communities at the heart of his work. He joins MRB from the Soil Association, where he is Director of Healthy & Sustainable Food leading a range of UK-wide programmes. He was previously Assistant Director of Food and Sharing at The Active Wellbeing Society during Covid, where he worked on a range of food and community sharing programmes across Birmingham. Amit lives locally with his young family, and is a guitarist and singer-songwriter in his spare time.
Amit said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Moseley Road Baths at such an important moment in its history. I’ve always been motivated by a belief that the places around us shape our health, wellbeing and opportunities, and Moseley Road Baths is a wonderful example of that. As a local resident, this role feels particularly special. The Baths has long been one of those places where my family has felt welcome and found a real sense of belonging. Through my work and wider involvement in Birmingham’s communities, I’ve seen the difference that places like this can make in people’s lives, from learning to swim to finding a sense of connection and community. The chance to be part of the next chapter for this extraordinary building, saved through the determination of local people, is a real privilege. I’m excited to work alongside local people and partners to help ensure Moseley Road Baths continues to make a positive difference for generations to come.”
Lucy Reid, Chair of Moseley Road Baths CIO said: “We could not be more delighted to welcome Amit as our first ever CEO. Amit’s ability to work with people, his deep understanding of what we are about, together with his exceptional leadership qualities, warmth and humanity really shone through in the recruitment process.”
