Trustee Volunteering lead; coalition subgroup
A University of Law graduate, Hamda is passionate about youth development, social policy, and international affairs, focusing on Africa and the Middle East. Volunteering for the Muslim Association of Britain’s Youth, she leads Birmingham’s team in youth-led campaigns.

Trustee Architecture and neighbourhood lead
Joe, a Balsall Heath resident and chair of Friends of MRB, is an architect and urban designer. Passionate about the architecture of Moseley Road Baths (MRB), he focuses on its renovation and adaptive reuse for the community’s benefit.

Kat joined the Board of Trustees in 2023. She has worked in corporate governance in the NHS for sixteen years and is excited to contribute her skills and experience to the Board and wider MRB community. Kat is currently Company Secretary at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Kat first became involved with MRB while writing an assignment about the building as part of her Masters in Conservation of the Historic Environment at BCU and went on to write her dissertation about historic swimming pools and community-led funding. She currently works in arts evaluation.

Lucy Reid
Chair of Trustees
For the last 16 years Lucy has worked for the National Trust, most recently as Assistant Director leading teams and major projects across the Midlands & East of England. She created and led the National Trust’s first holistic city strategy in her adopted home city of Birmingham.

Trustee Finance lead
Mohammed, Chief Accountant at the London Borough of Islington (2007-19), boasts 20+ years in local government finance, commencing his career post-university. A CIPFA-trained professional, he completed qualifications at Birmingham City Council and now holds a senior financial position there.

Trustee
Nicola brings over 25 years’ experience in finance, risk management and audit across a broad range of sectors. She currently leads on audit and risk at the General Medical Council. A proud Brummie, Nicola uses her skills and experience to support local organisations such as MRB and BCU.

Rebecca Pendlebury

Becky is a property development lawyer and head of the Birmingham office at Bevan Brittan. She focuses on public sector led developments and, as a former resident of Balsall Heath, appreciates the importance of MRB to the community.

Ruth Miller
Trustee (Line manager); HR subgroup
Ruth has been a trustee since 2017. She has had a long career in social housing and community regeneration, in particular co-operatives and mutual housing models. Now retired, Ruth keeps herself busy cycling, swimming and childminding her grandchildren.

Trustee Fundraising lead; coalition subgroup
Simon brings over 30 years of successful charity leadership, fundraising, and commercial banking experience. He is Chair of Moor Pool Heritage Trust, a community and heritage charity in West Birmingham, and previous to that had a successful and longstanding career at Lloyds Bank.

Sophie has recently joined the board of MRB. She has worked at theatres across the UK for the last 20 years and is currently the Senior Producer at Shakespeare’s Globe.
