FAQs

No, the pool is very much open to the public. Moseley Road Baths CIO took over the management of the baths from Birmingham City Council in April 2018.

To save the pool from closure, and to keep swimming in Balsall Heath, we formed a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), which is a form of charitable organisation. Our sole purpose is to keep the pool open for public use, and any profit we make as an organisation is re-invested in Moseley Road Baths.

We don’t accept Birmingham City Council Leisure Cards, for discounted swimming. We do however offer free swimming through the BeActive scheme. see our timetable.

You heard right! We have a limited free swimming places for Birmingham residents – provided through Birmingham City Council’s ‘BeActive’ scheme. Just turn up at a suitable ‘BeActive’ session and swim, you’ll only need to give us your age, postcode and a few other details. Come early as the sessions are very popular!

At the moment we offer subsidised swimming through the ‘BeActive’ scheme. We will be taking advice about our swimming prices in early 2019, we want swimming to be as accessible to the local community as possible.

Our volunteers undertake the same rigorous lifeguard training as our paid staff and have regular refresher training. Safety first!
