AN APOLOGY TO OUR SWIMMERS
We wanted to take a minute to post to apologise to all our swimmers for closures over the last few weeks. As I’m sure you’re aware, Moseley Road Baths is a small community-led charity which operates thanks to the hard work of both staff and volunteers. We have been able to run an increasing number of events in the Gala Pool (the non-watery pool!) over the last few months including a gong bath (as part of Balsall Heath Second Saturday) ‘Drum and Bounce’ and opera. It’s been so amazing to welcome people back into this space and we hope you’ve enjoyed it too.
Running a swimming pool (especially one which is over 110 years old!) is very challenging and requires us to have people on site who are highly skilled. We have lots of dedicated staff and volunteers and we are working on training more lifeguards. However, you may have noticed that recently we have had to close because of staff being ill, or having to self-isolate. We are trying to keep as many sessions on the timetable as we can, but this has unfortunately meant that we have had to have lots of last-minute closures which we have published on social media and on our website. We can only apologise to all our swimmers and thank you all for bearing with us while we get through this challenging time.
