Women Only Swim Lessons This Summer

NB This course is now fully booked! But do contact us if you’d like to be on our list for future courses. Want to learn to swim?  Or just improve your swimming?  Come along and learn essential skills on our intensive swimming course for women – even complete beginners are welcome!

  • 6 lessons on Mondays 2-2:45pm during the summer holidays
  • Female swim teacher
  • £40 per person
  • Swimming aids provided

Women’s Lifeguard Training Course This August!

Do you want to train as a lifeguard? It’s a great way to keep fit, gain new skills and confidence while helping people in your local community!

We can pay some or all of your training costs if you agree to help out as a volunteer lifeguard at Moseley Road Baths.

There is a course to train women lifeguards running here soon on the 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th of September and 6th and 7th of October with a fitness test at 6pm on Thursday 6th September.  Please note that this course has been postponed from its original date in August and that the date of the fitness test has changed!

This course has been funded through National Lottery Awards for All so that we can train some female lifeguards for our women only sessions to enable more local women to enjoy swimming!

We’re Looking For A Volunteer Development Manager!

We are currently seeking to employ a dynamic and experienced Volunteer Development Professional to create a sustainable volunteer programme at Moseley Road Baths as it undergoes the cultural shift from local authority to community run.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months with a salary of £26,000 per annum pro rate for 2.5 days per week.  The closing date is 12 noon on July 19th with interviews to on 31st July.

We’re Looking For Volunteer Receptionists!

Now that we’ve fully taken over the running of swimming at Moseley Road Baths, we have more opportunities for people to volunteer!  As a volunteer receptionist, you could play an important and vital role welcoming visitors and helping members of your local community.

We can provide you with training, work experience and cover your travel expenses and hours can be flexible depending on your needs and availability.  You’ll have the opportunity to meet new people, work as part of a committed team and spend time helping to secure the future of a beautiful Grade II* listed pool!

Bevan Brittan Helps MRB CIO Take the Plunge!

Law firm Bevan Brittan has successfully advised Moseley Road Baths Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), on a pro-bono basis, on its license to operate the historic swimming baths in Balsall Heath, Birmingham.

Karen Leach from Moseley Road Baths CIO said: “We are delighted to have formally obtained our license to operate and are extremely grateful to Bevan Brittan for helping us with the application without charge.  There is an exciting future for the pool, with fantastic levels of community engagement.”

Rebecca Pendlebury, partner at Bevan Brittan in Birmingham who advised on this matter with solicitor Emma Wilson, said: “We were delighted to work with Moseley Road Baths CIO on a pro-bono basis. There was widespread support for this beautiful heritage asset to be preserved and for it to continue to function as a swimming pool for the local community. Bevan Brittan has been in Birmingham for over 15 years and we are very pleased that we have been able to support this initiative that matters so much to so many local people.”

Mayor’s Community Weekend Pool Party

We’re hosting a FREE family pool party followed by a swim event for local women on Sunday 1st July! 🏊‍♂️🏖🎂

There will be refreshments from 1.30pm and then swimming pool slots at the following times:

Family pool party : 1.45pm- 2.45pm
Women only event: 3pm-4pm

This is to celebrate the Mayor’s Community Weekend and there are events across the West Midlands including a few in or near Balsall Heath http://wmca.org.uk/mcw
